Superman recues the train, and Lois phones in the story to a skeptical editor, Perry White. Arriving in Metropolis, Clark changes to Superman and rescues some victims of a fire. He then finds The Daily Planet, the city's biggest and best newspaper. He barges into Managing Editor Perry White's office and asks for a job. Clark is told that if he scoops Lois and Jimmy at a mine story, he’s hired. At the site of the mine blast, Lois learns of another route into the mine. She goes in and another blast happens sealing the shaft, now she's trapped too. Clark changes to Superman to intervene.
