Boo's tactic is successful, and he assimilates Vegetto. However, this was part of Vegetto's strategy, in order to rescue those who had already been absorbed by Boo. Despite raising a barrier at the last moment before being absorbed, for some reason, Vegetto splits apart into Goku and Vegeta once inside Boo's body. Vegeta takes off his Potara earrings and crushes it, declaring that he will never again form Vegetto.
